A new direction, Tim Schooler Films!

I first discovered my love of Photography many years ago, and pursued it as a part time business. In 2004, we opened a full time Photography Studio, and in 2005 purchased a historic building in downtown Lafayette, LA for the permanent location of our studio.

Photography has been an interest of mine since a young age; Films and Filmmaking have been a love of mine for just about as long. We have begun a new chapter in our business, bringing years of experience in photography to create a new direction in telling LifeStories. Let us help you portray your unique life story, whether it is a life journey, a business legacy or a vocation.

If you have a few minutes, please watch our first short film, a story of Faith and answering God's call with Sister Tracey Dugas of the Daughters of Saint Paul, she is such an inspiration!

Angels Among Us

Kids are completely unpredictable. They can be so adorable, easy going, and laughing uncontrollably one minute, and the next minute, turn that charm off completely. They will typically smile for you all day long until you put them in front of a camera, then they freeze up like a deer in headlights. I'll admit, I often want to be in control of a session, since proper posing can really bring out the best in a photography session. But let's be real, that often doesn't work with kids, and it can lead to stuffy, and boring photographs. . Who doesn't want to have photos of their children or grandchildren laughing and just being their lovable goofy self? So here are some tips that help during a session to help us really capture your child's personality, and let us concentrate on what we do best, and that is photograph them! 1. Make a list of things that your child thinks are funny and send it to us prior to the session. This way, we can be prepared and add these things into our bag of tricks. 2 . Also give us a list of icebreakers for your child. Tell us the kinds of shows they watch, music they listen to, friends’ names, favorite story, etc. This will give us something to talk to them about, and will help them forget they’re in front of the camera. 3 . Practice phrases at home to see which ones evoke the best smiles from your child. (Please, oh please, avoid “Say cheese!” unless that really works for you child. 4 . Try out a couple of jokes with them. During the session, we can ask them to tell us a joke and this will typically loosen them up as they tell it to us. 5 . If there is a song that your child loves, load it up to your phone and bring it along with you, or be prepared to sing it for them during the session. 6 . Prepare a bribe (such as a toy, a trip to the zoo, etc.) and show it to them, or remind them of it, during the session. This is cuteness overload right?
